This journal describes how my collection started and how it relates to my life growing up.

As a boy I remember collecting coins with my dad and brothers. It was then that I became fascinated with the coins, the history and the time I spent with my Dad looking through the small collection we had and looking for new coins. It's like looking for pieces to a puzzle but each piece has a unique story and symbolizes a short time in our nations history. I shared the love of coin collecting with my Dad and my Father in Law. Fast forward to 2009 and it all started again when my two little girls decided that they were going to collect all of the state quarters. I quickly got sucked back in to something that I had loved years ago. But this time it was different. I was getting to spend time with my daughters doing something that I myself had enjoyed doing as a child. Over time my daughters lost interest by I was hooked again. Over the last two years, I have enjoyed myself more than ever and my collection is special to me because it has coins from three generations of coin collecting in it and hopefully more to come.
