E-Bay is getting worse

I imagine that the main reason some vendors in Ebay use the 99 cent or 1 cent draw, is to get some interest in the item. I tried both buying and selling on Ebay, and although it was only a few years ago, I have not used Ebay as a buying option because of the rampant fraud and scams in there now. There has always been scammers in there, but now it is really bad, with people bidding on their own items with extra accounts to boost the price, and the mysterious appearing 'reserve' price. Has anyone noticed that sometimes you will bid on an item that states no reserve, but then when you bid, there IS a reserve? I have complained numerous times to ebay about that and other fraud they allow, and I am assured that they are always looking for ways to improve the site, and 'thank you for your concern' speil follows. Many people have good dealings in there, and more power to them. But as far as I am concerned, anyone who gets ripped off in there already knows about the fraud and scams that Ebay allows, and sometimes actually ENCOURAGES, if it adds to the profit margin of this crummy out-dated and under-regulated company. California wants to push the former head of EBay out there as governor. That's all we need, is someone who used to oversee this 'questionable' company.California is already in enough of a deficit, thanks but no thanks. I know Ebay must make a profit. But they have went overboard, and the appearance of new sites like Corkin.com, and others have shown that when these companies ignore the complaints of their customers, they will eventually go the way of the dinosaur. Just my opinion. I do occasionally go into Ebay, find the coin section, bid on as many 99 cent proof sets that I can, and wait for the outcome. I have yet to buy a proof set for 99 cents. And one more thing, I never bid on an item unless it has free shipping. Too many rip-off scammers using the postage as a way to jack up the profit. And I figure that since most of these sellers have a way to avoid selling you a 99 cent ANYTHING, I still take up a little space trying to show them that one day I just might luck into buying a 99 cent proof set.
