How often do we get a chance at a top ranked coin, that we can afford?

I purchased the "Flag ship" of my collection.

Up here in Canada, we have the "Torex" coin show and auction, in Toronto every year. This,in my opinon, is probably the top coin show/ auction that Canada has. I can't afford to ever go, but I can bid on line. the other day I went on to purchase a mid valued coin for my collection and to just watch what some of the coins were going for. That was good. I won the mid value coin. however, what I should have done and didn't was watch from the "watch" site and not the "bid" site. The auction was rolling along at it's fast pace. There we were, at the pinnicle coin(grade, auction value, etc) up for sale in the Canada proof like series. now, there are some rarer, and a few maybe a better grade, but the ultra cameo? Of a total of 3000 pieces minted in 1953, only about 200 or so have made it through time, and slabbed. the coin that I am talking about is the canada 1953 PL shoulder fold quarter. the one listed, as the highest ICCS graded/ ultra cameo quarter. The ultra cameo making this one RARE! There the bidding was $1000.00. $1300.00, $1400.00, any for $1500.00? My hand had a mind of it's own. I had a spit second to decide, really! My finger just clicked it. $1500.00. OMG, what did I just do? I never bid this kind of money. A quick thought in my head, oh well I wont get it anyway, it's slated for up $4000.00. Going once, twice, sold. I WON, I WON, I WON THE MONEY! (A line taken from the movie,Vegas Vacation). Now, oh oh. How do I pay for this monster? Well, instantly, I came up with the answer. Back in early December I went to Vegas for a week. 3 days in, I won two jackpots on the same day at two different hotels. $1500.00 at the Luxor on "Fireball" and in the early afternoon, $6500.00 on "Star Trek" at the Riviera. They took about $2000.00 for taxes. However, as a Canadian, I can apply to the U.S. gov. to get it back. I did this once back in 2006. it takes a couple of months though. Kind-of, problem solved. Well I kind of have an excited, happy, buyer's remorse. I really shouldn't have. I need to buy and pay off alot of other stuff before I bid on coins, such as this. like i said though, my finger had a mind of it's own. Hopefully, it is the best risk that I have ever taken, time will tell.
