Finially somewhere where creative thinking counts!

I have been reading all the complaints about dealers and deep pockets on the competive side of the isle, and I want to tell you, I too have competative sets, but the most fun I get out of this society is that it gives me a chance to show off important events in history through coins. I am puting together this year, a set of the last coins minted by the Russian Imperial Mints from 1916 - 1917. The Russian revolution affected the destiny of many other countries, such as Finland. Through this set the dying grace and beauty of Russian coinage can be seen in mint state examples. World War I began with the Russian Revolutions destabilizing effect on not only Europe, but Asia as well. This pivotal turning point in world history is revealed in the dying elegance of the coinage that the Imperial Russian Empire produced for over 300 years. This collection is short but difficult because of the restrictive laws of the present Russian government conserning the removal of Imperial coinage under penality of law. I have had to go to the other side of the world and many obscure places to find these coins, from Mongolia, where White Russian Army personel settled and took coin with them as they left their homeland forever. From every corner of Europe, wherever Russians fled from communism. I am perhaps more pleased with this representation of history than with any other coin collecting goal I have ever had. I don't have to compete so much with money but with imagination and knowledge. Please drop in from time to time and take a look at history in the making, of coins that is.
