Most people will never understand it !!!

As I reflect back upon years past,I can honestly say...WOW !!!! Most people cant afford to become #1 in a major set. It is a financial obligation that takes a toll in ways,that most people never expect. I have been dedicated to my mint set roosevelts for over 3 years. The amount of tradeing,money,and luck are a small part of the picture. You also figure out ways to save money. I love the $1.00 menu. I can fill up my stomach on $3.25. The amount of sleep you lose is unbeliveable. Running to every coin show to find nice toned or blazing coins for your collection. Looking for hours untill your eyes hurt.It is bad enough you toss and turn all night thinking about that coin you need at an auction, or hopeing no one else will get it. When the registry deadline is approching,and the next person is right behind you trying to take you #1 spot or you are right next to that #1 spot,you start scrambling for those few points to take the lead. The night before the deadline is the night most of us cant sleep. You are constatly telling all your close friends and family about it. Most people dont understand the obsession.They will tell you "you are nuts,or you can spend your money on something better".Rare coins rarely come up,mainly pop 1 coins and sometimes you never have that opporunity again. When a mega coin comes up,90% of the time you dont have the funds. Now you have to scramble to find the money. Most collectors now need to start selling other coins, or items in their house or borrowing. I perfer the bank method. I have a good history with my bank. They know me as soon as I walk in. You need to see the look on their face,when I need a signature loan for $2500.00 and they ask what it is for and I tell them it is for DIME ! Then comes their next statement. So you want a loan for $2500.00 so you can buy 10 Cents...I love looking them in the eye and say YES !!!!.I have been asked time and time again,why do call your sets "Destroying the ??? Competion". Most people think that I am insulting their collections,but it is the opposite of that.The honest answer,It gets people to look at my sets. It sparks their courisity and makes them click on my sets to see what I have in my collection. This is a small inside look at my life and probally some other collectors in here. I want to say congradulations to all those who dedicated their time and money to obtain their #1 spot. Thanks for reading and I hope to hear your input
