Dip in the market.
As of recently, it seems to be a much better time to be a collector.
I have been taking many courses in business due to my major. In some cases I have seen a paralel between the coin and economic market. Coins have not seemed to take quite as hard of a hit as other sections of the economy. The recent 1913 liberty nickel sale is evidence of this. (sold for $3,737,500 by Heritage auctions).
On the price range of coins which the rest of us collectors purchase, I have seen a drop in prices. I always have felt coins can be an exceptional investment. I feel that becauce the dip in prices of certain coins, it is a great time to be a collector. Previously, it could be viewed as more of a dealer market. Now having spoke with several other collectors, I would feel comfortable in saying it is a great time to be a collector!!!
Enjoy finding some deals while you can.
