My crossovers are back and I got the trick not the treat.

Lets start this out by saying you should read my Part 10 journal before reading this one.

In my last journal I showed a scan of the 5 ANACS graded Ireland coins I sent in for crossover. These were 5 coins I was thinking had a good chance of making it into a NGC slab. I was thinking at least 4 of them would, the AU-53 looked more like a AU-50 to me. Well, that didn't happen. The 1805 penny, a ANACS-PF63, came back crossed over in a NGC salb as a PF-62. That was fine as I said That was my mim. grade I'd take. The 1940 ANACS MS-62 crossed over at that grade, I was hoping for a 63. Oh, well. The other three didn't make it and came home in the same costumes. A bit disappointed that the shilling didn't make the MS-65 switch, NGC said to many contact marks. The other two coins NGC said had to much wear.

Now what do I do? Break them out and send in, keep in ANACS slabs, sell them and replace with NGC slabs? What about my other ANACS slabs. I don't know if 2 out of 5 are good odds to send in my other 15 ANACS slabs. I'd sure like my set to be all NGC and PCGS encased.

It's getting late and my eyes are closing so I'll post a Part 10 3/4 to tell you about the raw coins and Conder tokens I sent along with the crossovers.

Hey, this just popped into my head. Is there any way to use the pictures NGC takes of my coins, when grading them, for use in my Registry sets? I only have a crappy scanner and I'll never win a Registry award using it.

I'll see you tomorrow when I post Part 10 3/4.

Just a look at my latest buy.
