Is The Sky Falling?

With all this up and down in the precious metals, we only can wonder what an effect this will have on the coins we collect. The US Mint is raising their prices to keep up with gold and silver as it escalates. The modern coinage will be effected as precious metals will push up the costs to manufacture the coinage. If there were any good answers to the economy someone would have come up with a solution but no one seems to know just where it will all end. And....there seems to be a attitude of panic or buy what you can when you can for it may not be available next week, next month and who knows what another year will bring. I wonder if all this is feeding the up surge, or is the sky really falling, says chicken little. I suppose I am just venting a little.
