Slow and steady looses the race

Submissions sent to NGC are at high risk because of the increase in gold prices and NGC guidelines.

I find myself in interesting situation. NGC states that you need to have a minimum of 5 coins graded per submission. This is fine if you?re in the neighborhood. If I send 5 coins through registered mail it takes 5 to 7 business days to reach them.

If I send 5 gold buffalos to NGC for grading the total value of my shipment is $7,300.00 in raw gold costs. The US mail insurance limit is $5,000.00 for Priority or express mail. If my need to beat the Early Release cut off date, I have to under-insure my package by $2,300.00.

What would you do, loose the early release label? Would you risk loosing $2300.00? Just my excitement alone to get my coins back wants me to push my packages through the grading process and ship them there express mail.

Maybe we can get NGC to modify the grading guidelines for the Gold Rush tier to 3 coins per submission?

Does anyone have any suggestions?
