Posts of late have "lit" a fire under my butt!

Greetings Collectors,

I am going to try and make this short. I want to buy lessons, over the phone, if possible to get to the point where I can get photos of my coins here on this site. What pics I have all need to be trashed and started over. These were done my daughter a good while back and while I saw they were not acceptable then, I did not have the heart to complain and ask her to help me do them over as she did not want to do them in the first place. All of you with teenagers and very young adults know how much they love "hanging" with dad and taking pics of his coins, yea right...

This is where I am at now. I have a pretty good camera in that I have taken fairly good photos in the past to place on e-bay for coin sales there. I have experimented with lighting and backgrounds where I am confident I can get the shot to the camera. My problem is I need help getting them from the camera to the computer and then doing whatever it takes to get them to the size I need to post here.

Whoever wants to undertake such a project, please drop me a note and we will talk terms. I fully expect to pay for this and will not accept charity. I have quite a few coins in my sets here and have the other 80% of my collection raw. We can do this for cash (money order) or we can do this for coins. I am to the point that I will not let this year end without being good at what I have just described. I will go one further and say I want to have this "know how" within the next 30 days. This is my goal and I will not rest or make another coin purchase 'til I have achieved this.

So what say you all. My only fear is that several will offer and I will have to choose one to keep the confusion on my part down to a minimum. I am very serious about this as I am so very tired of seeing one great pic after another posted with each journal.

Thank you "six mile rick" and "gherrmann44" for the kick in the a--. This is a long overdue move on my part. If I had a dollar for each time that I have bought a coin, have looked at that coin and wanted to share it with others, I would never have any money problems again. I may have said this before but I think it's worth repeating. No one knows that I collect coins. This is a hobby that you don't share for fear of being robbed. I can count on one hand the people that know and even they don't have a clue and would be shocked to see what I have amassed. I do not say this to brag but to stress how important this CS community is to me and the desire to be able to share my collection with the rest of you. I brought all my gold home this weekend along with my Walker short set and Franklin halve set # 1 & 2. I spent last night until 2 am and have been into these coins since I woke up at 8. Only after looking at these pieces and admiring them and remembering when I bought them and why, did I finally say to myself, "this is it, I am sick and tired of writing about this coin and that one and this set and that, I am finally going to do something about it.

So anyway that's my story and I am damn sure sticking to it. I am going back to the dining room table and start taking some practice shots with some differant lighting I have used in the past. I hope all of you are having a safe, enjoyable "coin filled" weekend. Happy Collecting! WKF
