Presidential Ponderings

I started my Presidential Dollar set after looking at one of the wifes coins. I really liked the design, and thought the dollars were very cool. It was also a set I could put together at reasonable cost, unlike the State quarter set I was also working on.

I bought the 09 year set first, winning an auction on E-Bay on 3-28-09. It was a complete set of the four, in the new NGC Edge-View holder. Really cool looking set!

I then got busy, winning the 07 and 08 year sets on E-Bay auctions, both on 4-4-09. I was thrilled! Complete sets, with no more to buy until next year!!!!

All the coins in this set are perfect 70's with no defects of any kind in any of them. I am pretty picky!!!! My photography is getting a bit better, but still a ways to go. I need to cut down on glare, and such, as it makes little streaks on the photo. Will keep working on it!!!

I really like this series of coins. It is fun to look at them, and think about each President and what he did for our country. I find myself doing a bit of research on Presidents I don't know very well. Makes it a fun and learning experience all wrapped up in one!!!

11-8-09 Today I changed out my photos with scans. Not perfect, but sure an improvement. These coins are very scan friendly!!! I think these are the best scans I have done so far!!!! Glad I got them all done today. Ready for judging now!!!! Very anxious for the next four Presidents next year!! Love adding to my sets, and it is hard to have to wait for a year between additions!!!

3-22-10 After a long hiatus, I added coins to this set today! My

2010 set showed up at the PO this morning! Yeah!!! All four Presidents for this year are here! I added them to my set and scanned them as well. Nice they are done. Too bad it will be a year before there are any more to add! Lots of interesting history here, for sure! Of course, the best of the four is the Lincoln. Such a great man, such a great President!!! One wonders what if.......I also wonder what Honest Abe thinks of the cesspool in DC now!!!!!!
