I am filling in the SAE shaped hole in my heart....

Hope you all have been well. School continues to be going very well, but time consuming. I am still enjoying furthering my education very much.

Yesterday I decided to go to usmint.gov and see about ordering my 2009 Prezzie Proof set, which the Mint offers for about 15 dollars. BUT something else caught my eye.

The 2009 Proof set offers not only the Prezzies, but also the Proof Lincoln Pennies, the dime, half, and quarter and a Native American dollar for about 30 dollars. I decided to get the 2009 Proof set. Should be here in about a week.

I am glad I researched this a bit more as I cannot go to the bank and just get a roll of the Lincolns, and I have been desiring them. I also wanted some new Natives, but I cannot get those, either. SO for about the price I was paying for SAE W's 2 years ago, I was able to fill the void the Mint left me with a great new set of coins that I would have overlooked if the W's and Proofs were actually available.

I still miss my Eagles, though. Looks like the Mint won't be issuing fractional gold Eagles anymore either. The site says they are discontinued PERIOD everything else is "until further notice".

I am pretty confident there will be absolutely no W or Proof Silver Eagles at all this year. With it now being well half way through June, even IF there were SAE's W and Proof, the mintage would be so absolutely small very few of us would be able to acquire them, in my opinion. Those of us who DID acquire such a small mintage would be sitting on some great rare coins.

I am still glad that I was able to acquire a MS 70 SAE bullion coin, as there are only about 8,000 of those in the pop report graded NGC. I can't wait to see how that coins price escalates. I am proud to own it. Can't wait to get my "reverse of" as well.

Those of you looking to fill that void for new coins, I implore you to check out the 2009 Proof set. It's worth a look. Good price as well.
