I may be dreaming to think this list will be completed...

Greetings Collectors,

It has rained steady for the last week here in N.E. Florida and with all my current jobs being outdoors, I have had time to do a good deal of reflecting as to where I want to go with my sets. I think this was needed for me to get a grasp on not only my sets but my finances as well.

In the last 72 hours I have gotten a few things in the mail and have won several other "lots" that have yet to arrive. This week I have received my 1907 $10 Indian and yesterday got my P.R. quarters from the mint. Today two of the four Mercury dimes came (1939&1942) I also see today where the US mint has shipped my four rolls of the second Lincoln cents. I won a 1903 $2.50 liberty last night with Heritage graded Au 55 and housed in an "old green holder" from PCGS which for the life of me I can not see what is keeping this coin from MS62. This is one which WILL BE cracked out and re-submitted. So I am currently waiting on it, the other two Merc's and my Lincoln cents.

I am tracking several coins at present at several auction houses and have decided that I am going to try and finish three areas of sets I have ongoing. I will also stay on the lookout for PCGS "rattlers" AKA 1st generation OGH's to complete my Mercury Dime middle set. But the three sets that "I am on a mission" on are the following:

In my Walking Liberty Half "short set" I need the following upgrades: 1942-D MS66, 1944-P MS66, 1945-S MS66, 1946-P MS66, 1947-P MS66, and the 1947-D MS66. I would also like to find and purchase the following "S" mints in MS65: 1941-S, 1942-S & 1944-S. If I am able to obtain those #9 coins my "walker" dreams will have come true.

In my Franklin Half set my goal is to obtain the following upgrades: All of these I need in MS-65 with "full bell lines". The 1949, 1949-D, 1949-S, 1950-D, 1951, 1952-S, 1953, and the 1961-1963. The 1963-D is the only coin from the sixties I currently own in MS-65 full bell lines.

The coins needed to fill the gaps mentioned will be a tall order to fill and it remains to be seen as to if I am up to the challenge. But if fullfilled I will have a couple of sets That I can truely be proud of. I am giving myself one year from now to do this.

Now if this is not already enough, I have one more set with some expensive holes to fill. It is my $20 type three double eagle set. I have a "Philly" 1898 NGC-61 on lay-a-way and along with it I would like to complete my 20th century one date per year set and to do so I will need the 1900, 1903, and the 1907. All of those I will be shooting for MS-62's. And not to sound greedy, but if "my proverbial ship comes in" I would like to upgrade my 1902 and my 1905 to MS examples.

There are still other coins I would love to have but the way I have been going, I have been all over the place. I am hoping that by having somewhat of a goal this will help channel my thoughts along with my funds to a defined hunt/want/wish list and will make acheiving these goals something to look forward to.

I am not sure if this will put me in the "top 100" or not. I really don't care about that as much as really wanting to finish these favorite sets that I have been working on for many years. Please wish me luck as I will surely need it. I do love this hobby so and hope all of you are having as much fun with your coins as I am. Happy Collecting to all! WKF
