Does the Person Make the Collection, OR The Collection Make the Person?

This is where Signature sets come in....

Greetings!!

It has been a few days since my last post as I have been busy getting the air conditioning systems in the buildings I am responsible for ready for summer, as well as pool boiler start-ups for public pools I am also responsible for, AND getting registered for college coming up in May.

I have had some time to ponder the effects of having a collection and nurturing the collection, and adding to the collection. I wondered the other day does my collection make me who I am as a collector? OR have I made the collection personable to myself?

As my main focus of my collection are Silver American Eagles, I think the obvious answer would be the collection makes me who I am as a collector (the guy who loves Silver Eagles) BUT the great thing about The Collectors Society Journals is (one of the great things anyway) I can make collecting Silver Eagles, even though it is a pre-determined set personable to myself as I can express my passion about the set, and share my excitement about the pursuit of and acquisition of any given SAE I have acquired.

Having said that, I think the collectors who have the Signature Sets here are very creative and deserve more accolades than I can even muster here.

To take a set of coins and make the set personable to the particular collector, with the only means of doing so is the set itself, is the most creative and innovative act I have seen here in the Collectors Society. My greatest respect to all of you who have made some very amazing sets.

I wish I had that much creativity and time myself!!

So, in closing I feel that any set can be made personable to the collector, whether by words or creative acts, and your set does not really have to define you as much as having a passion for the set can define you.

I am that guy who really loves the Silver American Eagles, and loves to write about owning the SAE's as well.

Thanks for reading!!
