I have no right to complain...

Greetings Collectors,

All my submissions are now back at home as of today and boy what a mixed bag. As I have mentioned before, I sent three separate invoices off at the same time and an additional one a week later. The latter arrived Sat. and the "triple" arrived yesterday via "pink slip" which I picked up at the Post Office this afternoon.

While some of the grades were great, some were not and I had six "body bags". Before I share the results I want to say that no matter what the grades are/were I am very Thankful that I have coins to send off for grading and the extra funds to spend on those "slabs".

The group of coins I sent off in the four submissions were a "hodge podge" of new mint items and some gold soveriegns and a little of this and a little of that. I also had four "crack outs", which two of those came back cleaned and the two $5 gold liberties jumped one grade.(one went from 45 to 50 and the other from a 58 to a 60. I still do not realize how some of the 2nd and 3rd tier grading services miss a "cleaned coin". Go figure.

I will start with the bad news coins first.

My "Pirate coin" a 1760 ("front of the Red Book") Spanish pillar dollar came back "not genuine"

The 1908 $2.50 Indian came back "mount removed" (don't know from where?)

The 1913 $2.50 Indian came back "polished"

The only gold British Sovereign I have ever bought off e-bay, a 1912 came back "improperly cleaned".

The last two coins were "crack outs" the first, an 1820/19 Capped Bust half was in an old style Anacs holder at F-15 (before c.o.) came back "improperly cleaned" and the last a very nice "former ICG holder" AU 50 (that looked 61 or 62) came back "obverse improperly cleaned"

While I am "bummed", more so with the old half dollar and the gold dollar, now that they will not reside in my sets. I was not able to put them in before either, so "oh well".

My Lincoln "bicentennial" silver dollars graded well with the two proofs making "70" and my three "unc's" two "70's" and one "69".

I decided to not break into my new 2009 Lincoln cents and left them in their mint rolls. The rest of my coins were as follows:

1880 $5 Liberty MS 60

1892 $5 Liberty AU 50

2002 $5 Gold Eagle MS 69

2003 $5 Canadian Maple Leaf MS 65

2005 $1 Silver Eagle MS 69

2006 $1 Silver Eagle MS 69

2009 $1 Silver Eagle MS 69

1893-M Australian gold sov. XF 45

1894-M " " " XF 45

1895 G. Britian gold sov. XF 40

1897-M Australian gold sov. VF 35

1899-S " " " AU 50

1911-S " " " MS 62

1913 G. Britain gold sov. AU 58

1915 " " " MS 62

1925 " " " MS63

All in all I am pleased and Thankful. I have plenty of work for the time being and most of all, my three children are healthy as am I. If you have your health and your family, all the rest is "gravy". I will continue to remember those of you that are going thru trying times in prayer in the hopes that God will open the windows of Heaven and pour out blessings so great that you won't be able to gather them all in. Do not forget that he is still on the throne and that he is still in the "miracle business".

Have fun with your coins & as always Happy Collecting! WKF
