3 more Jefferson proofs and 2 Mercury proofs to go...

I have been hunting down coins for my proof sets of Jefferson's and Mercury's. I just added three to the Jefferson proofs and finially found a 1968-s PR69DCAM on E-bay. I have been hunting for that coin, since forever! There are only 153 of them and today there were two for sale after months of nothing, anywhere, when it rains it pours I guess. I have only three more Jefferson's to find, 1940 rev of 38, 1939 rev of 38 and 1939 rev of 40 to finish the collection.

The Mercury proofs can be a bear to find with no toning. I put the 1940 & 1941 in PR65 in the slots today. Still need the 1936 & 1937 and then I am done.

Completing a collection is a great feeling. So far I have completed a Washington Proof quarter set, 1936 to present. It is not on the Collection Society since I collected it raw in 2X2 Intercept Shield containers and storage boxs, did I mention I like'em white? I finished the proof Roosevelt Dime collection and will have the Jefferson and Mercury proofs done this year, God willing. I am 85% of the way done with a BU Mercury Dime set in a Intercept Shield Album. It is one good looking set!

I am working on a large, high end, set of Roman Imperial's, a bust set of Emperors, in mostly MS grade. So far NGC has been good to me in the grading department for these hard to find coins. Now if only they had a place for them here on the Registry...
