My "Mental Health Day"

...and anxiety related to "coin waiting"

Greetings folks!!

After a brutal 4 or 5 months where my mood has been swinging back and forth, and me not seeing any sort of end in sight of the "mood situation" I decided last night to take a "mental health day" off from work.

This did wonders for me. I did not realize how much I needed a day off. This time also gave me a window to contemplate the arrival of my newest coin. And the anxiety of waiting for it.....

I wish there were words to describe just how much NGC and The Collectors Society has meant to me as a newer coin collector. To have a venue to read others triumphs and defeats as well as post my own has been a great tool as I have acquired my new coins and considered other types of coins.

The price guide and population reports are so very helpful as well, and I love gawking at everyones collections in the registry. Like a kid in a candy store am I.

I have made some pretty good decisions today as I have cleared my mind and changed my attitude. The most relevant decision is from this day on out, I will be adding only 70's with any new mintages to my registry. Now, I can't afford to get 70's retro to before 2006...so those will all be 69's for sure. But, from 2009 onwards, I intend to have 70's in my SAE set. I think this is wise to do, and affordable as well. Especially if I get 70's back from grading on raw coins. But, I am also willing to pay 100 or so dollars for a 70 with the knowledge the coin most likely will gain value...and if it does not, I still love the coin anyway...but I think the 70's are the only way to go...from here on out.

I am happy to have made that decision, and I am more happy than ever today, having had some down time.

Hope your day was as great!!
