Full torches can drive you mad
Strike is 100 times more harder to find in the same grade
I have went to coin shows and looked until my eyes hurt trying to find only full torches.Pickens are very slim.As soon as I flip the coin over,if the torch looks bad in anyway,I discard it.I dont care even if it would make a ms68. 99% of all my roosevelts are full torches.I still wonder why a ms68* has about the same points as a 68ft.Alot of people say to look at the population report.Population report has nothing to do with it.More people are focusing on full torches, this is the reason behind the slight higher numbers..If anyone disagres with this idea,go to a coin show.Start looking at how many coins are not a full torch, and the ones you send in,watch what the grade brings in.My last coin show,I went through 7000 roosevelts, and found 2 full torches.one was a ms64ft and the other was ms65ft.
Even the price difference between a ms68* and a ms68ft is about a 1500.00 to 2500.00 price swing.A ms68* will bring 900.00 to 1800.00...Now a ms68ft,you are not buying for less than 2500.00 unless you are very lucky.I know of only one person who accomplished this task.even at the last superior auction, did you see the prices of those ms68 full torches.Unless you had a minimum of 4500.00 you was not buying a ms68ft.
