yes i believe you should buy the coin not the holder but when your dealing with 30K coins & those that do know that a PCGS slab can bring in many thousands more then the same coin in an NGC slab

i always believe you should buy the coin not the holder...thats the advice we have all heard...but in reality there are prob 50% of the hobby that dont know how to grade a coin, dont know if its cleaned or not etc etc, these people buy the holder...what else could they do when you don't know any better? yes you can learn and i recommend everyone does but for the average collector its almost impossible to tell all the techniques in which a coin is doctored...im sure we have all had a coin come back in a body bag and not know why?? & also when it comes down to it people will pay more for a condition census coin in a PCGS slab...its just how it goes...so when your paying 30K for a condition census charlotte coin and the same coin is available in an NGC slab for 27K....wouldnt that be buying the slab over the coin??? and wouldnt you think that people spending 30K on a coin would know how to grade(not always!)...thats just how it goes, finest known coins in PCGS slabs sell for more money...why i dont know as i love the new NGC slabs(im all for eye appeal!)....anyway ive had my little rant for the day....and to rarsov...why have an opinion if your just going to edit it? im positive your first post looked a bit different? and the suggestion of "giving them all a coupon to switch" really felt like PCGS bashing ...if there is such a thing....actually when i look back there has been a bit of that on this board over the years

ps and in no way am i trying to start fights with people in here....i just read a post saying people should not be allowed to have pcgs coins on here and everyone should be given coupons to switch & PCGS owners can burn in hell etc etc(give or take ) and just wanted to give my opinion...thats all...opinions...they are just like assh*les everyones got one and no one cares...
