Very Proud of my Collection
Upon reviewing my coins today, I found I have made great strides.
Greetings!
There are days when it is easy to get in a sort of rut and lament about the things you don't have while cursing the fact of a bad economy and cursing the fact that for the 4th night in a row you have been awakened from a deep sleep with nightmares about losing your job.
It seems like these have been my days lately as the headlines don't bring very promising economy news and lay offs in Utah have only increased and people have just closed their wallets and have been staying home.
I have found that my attitude has been a little dismal as I hope for better days, and when my attitude becomes cloudy, I begin to take stock of what I DO have in life, and as a collector.
Since this IS a collecting site, I will focus here on what I have accomplished as a coin collector.
In just under 2 short years I have acquired some great coins. I am most proud of the PF and MS 70's I have personally acquired from the Mint, and subsequently sent to NGC for grading not knowing what sort of grade they would get...most surprising when you "stalk" the "Grading and Submissions" part of the site for 2 weeks and BINGO you find you are going to get some 70's back. The BEST feeling ever for a collector!!
I am also proud of the MS 70 $5 Gold Eagle I purchased for $99 already graded. This is one of the lowest minted gold bullion coins from the Mint in a long time, and I am so proud to have it.
I am also proud to own the 2 CGC comics I bought. "Batman Year One PT 1" and "Batman: Year One PT 2"
So, I would encourage any of you feeling the pinch right now, or if you are just plain depressed, go spend some time with your collection. Believe me, only your collection understands you like you want to be understood. It will make you happy to dwell in your accomplishments for awhile!!
All the best!!!
