Here we go again

Hello to all,

After 30 years I am back to collecting coins!! Growing up in the 60's was a wonderful time to collect coins, back then you would get a handful of silver every evening when you emptied your pockets ( and I saved it all!!! ). By the 1970's I had quite a large collection of coins mostly war nickels, silver dimes, quarters, halfs, dollars, and a very nice lincoln cent collection (including a 1909 s vdb that I paid $95.00 for in 1968). When the hunt brothers tried to corner the silver market, and the silver whent thru the roof, I sold off about 30 rolls of off date quarters at a remarkable $160.00 per roll!!!!. With the money I earned from the procedes I purchased some very nice morgan, and peace dollars along with some 2.5 dollar gold coins. I was well on my way to putting together a impressive collection ( I was only 16 years old!!!) Then the unthinkable happened, after coming home from a family vacation our house was robbed, my whole collection was gone!!!!. After many years of licking my wounds, In 1999 when the first state quarters rolled off the presses I started to collect again. 10 years later( boy time flys )I once again have begun to assemble a nice collection.( this time I have a safe ) I joined The NGC about a month ago to organize, and put value on my collection, and this time I am sharing my passion for collecting with my 10 year old daughter. I have been slowly sending my coins in to be graded, and am trying to make sense of the registry( it's a bit confusing ) But as a matter of fact, we are having a lot of fun :) I welcome any feedback from other members, and foward to making some new "friends".

Till next time,

nicky
