I need feedback / opinions on Crossgrading

I finally recieved my Dec. 18 submission. The coins came just as described, and overall I'm very happy. The one that had to go through NCS first, before it could be cross graded, is on its way now also. it cross graded just fine.

Now, for my quastion. A 1953 Canadian pl dime that technically has been crossgraded. Due to the fack that I removed it from its holder and sent it in. It was the coin that came back as a second highest graded. Great! It graded 1 grade higher than in its orrigonal grade. The Cameo level went down from heavy cameo to cameo. It's a shoot wich way "heavy cameo" designation will go with NGC, up to Ultra or down to cameo. Anyway I'm very happy with that one. What bothers me though if I did the right thing by sending 2 others for cross grading instead of just cracking them out and sending them in. I was worried of getting lower grades on these coins. Yes, they came back just as the other holder grade, but if I had not cross graded them then NGC would not have had a heads up to the orrigonal grade. Would they have also recieved the possible higher grade as my first one? That is the question rolling through my mind. When a coin gets cross graded does it always get the orrigonal holder's grade or can or will NGC up it's grade if they see that it is a higher grade? A bit of conversation, or feedback of opinions on what is best with cross grading would greatly be accepted, so as to broaden my knoledge, in this matter.
