A Slight Change in Strategy for 09
Upon realization of the size of my hoard, and economics...
Greetings!
Last night after much thought and upon staring at my coin hoard (again) and also upon hearing that the "W"'s will most likely not be minted this year...and when you go to the Mint website and try to look at SAE Proofs...well, there are none...yet.
Upon considering all of these factors and realizing the coin production this year is likely going to be skimpy I have decided to concentrate most of my budget on submissions this year.
I will also continue to add SAE's to my registry to fill in the slots as I want to complete the set by 2010...2011 at the latest.
I already have my 2nd submission hoard ready to go, well, selected anyway. This will include my 1923 Peace Dollar, My 1883 Morgan, my 1921 Morgan, a 1965 error penny, and a 1909 VDB penny.
I have also begun to re-consider whether I will submit my Prezzie Proof sets...I am think I most likely will submit the 2007 set at least, as many of you who read this journal know, I have had some doubts about whether I wanted to submit those as I really like the Mint packaging the coins come in.
But, lately I am thinking I am doing myself no favors by letting them stay in the drawer as if I grade them I can at least get registry points, too. But this will be my 3rd submission if I do this.
So, this year I have decided to focus on my registry a lot more, and also focus on my blog I have created and securing interviews there. It's funny how hard it is to get interviews from some of the major dealers right now...everyone is so busy.
But, I am looking forward to the interviews, and I may be calling on some of you to participate as well later this year.
Thanks again for reading, much luck to you all for your 09 plans!!
