On Winning and the Consequences
Everything seems to have 2 sides...
Greetings!!
I have struggled for the past 3 years in fantasy football to draft and maintain a winning team, and finally this year, with hard work and a little luck, I have succeeded in winning 1st place in my league...which has made me ecstatic.
I could go on about that, but this IS a coin web site, so I make my point that the same weekend I won the football league championship, I also won a really great Proof Silver Eagle on auction for about half the price Numismedia says it is worth.
ALSO I have been able to afford to re-new my membership here and soon I will be able to submit several coins for grading.
This has been probably the hardest financial year I have endured in a long time, and I still hurt from the $3 cut in pay I recently took. But it seems like the small victories in times like these mean more than in the "better" times.
The small victories seem to help me pick myself up from the large defeats I have seen lately, which is why being a collector, and a member of the Collectors Society, means so much to me. It's the reason I keep going sometimes...building a great set and maintaining a great set, improving that set, adding better descriptions and pictures....this is the goals we all have, and the victories we share when that one coin is won or bought...makes all the times when we are down seem far far away.
Collecting is about far more than the collection...it's all about the journies and victories along the way.
Thanks for reading!!!
Be safe!!
