Taking inventory of the collection and the collector....

Greetings!

Well, the chill of November is here and the first snow has fallen as I write this.

There is something about this time of the year that gives me a reason to slow down a bit and take inventory of the experiences and times that the past year has brought to me. So much to give thanks for as I will soon celebrate my favorite holiday which is Thanksgiving.

I will never be able to express the joy and longing collecting the Silver Eagles and other coins has brought to me. I take my collection out of hiding very often to stare on the beauty and lament the hunt and possession of each coin. They sll do have their own unique stories and places in my collection, and they will all be treasured for years and years to come.

I also am proud to have been able to obtain my "Batman: Year One" CGC comics this past year, I still need the last 2 to finish the set...and as soon as funds allow, this will happen, too.

I am thankful for my new job with the County government that will secure a good future for myself in the trade that I have loved for the past 14 years..and if you don't mind me saying..I have become pretty good at. I took a cut in pay for now...but hopefully will see some good raises and will be back on top in a year or 2. I am sacraficing some pay for some needed holidays and vacations and sick days....the 60 hour weeks in the past have caught up to me....

I am thankful for the services that NGC has offered us all, and the times I spend reading and contribiting to the journals are not times wasted, but times I do treasure.

I enjoy all of your stories and share in the excitement as you, as well, find the coins you are pursuing.

This is a short list of my inventory of thanks...there is much more to share and I plan on sharing the things I treasure with you all in coming months. I am looking forward to getting back in the game soon, and can't wait to add to my sets.
