Three reasons for your consideration.
One: Unprofessional appearance.
Two much empty space around the coin makes the holder looks unprofessional, thus creating a feeling of insecurity.
Two: Limited holding areas.
Coins often moves back and forth in NGC holders, but in new holder, when a small coin is moved out of the holding areas, it is free to go whatever direction it wants. Comparing to the old holders, the new holders only use about 20% to 50% of the coin?s edges, so moving back and forth is much easier.
Three: Unnecessary edge-viewing. Not all coins required edge-viewing holders; reeded edge or smooth edge coins look more secured in regular holders. And obviously, there is nothing to see on the edge.
Imagine the small Panama coin is dislocated toward the front of the slab
