Holidays fast appraoching, more new coins will be bought...

Greetings!

Well, we are only slightly into October as I write this entry and a great chill is in the air and much rain is falling here in SLC.

It is just enough for me to wax a bit nostalgic about the current condition of my great coin collection as I am very proud of the progress I have made with it in less than a year of serious collecting.

It was about this time last year that I became a paid member here and started my serious venture into this fun and exciting world of numismania. And the pursuit of the new coin and the drama of trying to complete the collection does still make it tolerable to face the real world every day. I love my coins and the hobby very much, and I hope your own pursuits within the hobby has brought you all the same joy and excitement that I have found here.

I have fallen behind a bit with my goals, I am not really where I wanted to be in regards to my collection at this time. The economy has hit my household as did some extravagant spending on my collection where I am still now paying off some debts I acquired in pursuit of my hobby. But, this coming year is going to prove much more fruitful as I will indeed be back on top of things.

I has also hoped to pursue some interviews with some coin shop owners to post here and in my personal blog space. But, that has been moved to next year as well when I can feel a bit more inspired to write and interview without the financial thing hanging over me.

So, please look to this page for some exciting acquisitions and posts in the first half and beyond in 2009.

On a personal note, I am looking forward with great anticipation to celebrating Thanksgiving this year.

No, it has not been a stellar year in many regards, but I am glad to have gotten a job with my county government here, which is much more stable than my career as an HVAC tech in the private sector.

So I am thankful for that in a very big way.

I hope all of you have been able to hang on as well in your careers and pursuits as well in this turbulent time.

Thanks for reading, and here's to a very exciting 2009!!!
