Honest Sellers are more prevalent than you think...
I also have been blessed by honest sellers on Ebay.
I will sometimes buy mint sets and proof sets on a whim on Ebay, mostly because of price points. In August, I bought a mint set from an ebay member in Texas. He inadvertenly sent a proof set by mistake. He sent me an email prior to the wrong thing showing up and as a few of you have atested to he just told me to keep the proof set.
Needless to say, I didn't feel right about keeping the proof set without paying for it, so I sent him the low bid for that year in return mail. I was happy to keep the proof set and felt it was fair to send at least the low bid back.
I seem to be able to cipher out the cons, since in most cases they tend to "accentuate the positives" to an extreme. Case in point are all those sellers out there rolling up generic coins in "shotgun" rolls making sure that you know a semi key date is on the end and that you might find a hidden treasure in these rolls. In all likelyness the only thing in those rolls is the one coin on the end! Too bad people are to guillable to understand these tactics. Don't believe it if it's too good to be true.
Ebay hasn't lost it's luster yet for me, especially when honest business people do honest things to keep the customer happy!
