Emotional Roller-coaster

Ramblings

I live in a remote location so coin delivery time is exceedingly slow, though I am not complaining as this allows me to track the packages while they are in transit and take off of work as appropriate with minimal company "comp time" required on the weekends.

This is all irrelevant to my roller-coaster ride, but I enjoy rambling...

The short cycle emotional peaks and valleys are caused by my jubilation at hearing the door bell ring, quickly scribbling my signature (which would fail a 4th grade pensmanship assignment), and tearing open the envelope/box containing my latest aquisition (do not fret as it really isnt tearing, I merely describe it as such for effect).

I spend the next hour or so molesting the coin with my eyes, every nook and cranny, followed by hurried photography, and finally I hop in the car and speed to the bank before closing time.

Into a slab holder, or an empty mylar holder if it is a raw purchase (which reminds me I have to get some of these coins in for certification so that I can add them to my registry). I then woefully replace and relock the box. Return to my car and embark upon my gloomy ride back home.

My problem is the unfufillment I feel once the coin goes into the safety deposit box. I know that I can visit them anytime I want, I do frequently, and that the feeling is not a fraction of what I would feel in comparison to coming home to a missing safe or gun to my head. Though even with these truthful revalations I cannot manage to make myself feel better about the process.

I am unsure what an ideal (and realistic) situation would be, but something needs to change so that I am able to thoroughly enjoy this new found hobby/obsession I have developed.
