everything has to go go go .....damn new obsession

As i sit here early on a saturday morning about to head off for a day of excitement, passion, tension, fear & loathing....a day at the bourse...lol..heading to the mid america coin expo at schaumburg IL today as i did yesterday...i love it when a show is only a short drive away...well 1hr30min short....yesterday after scouting out a few opportunitys i spotted a coin i have been looking for...well i wasnt looking for it until i found it.....there she was gleaming under a locked case 1883cc GSA MS66* fully rainbow toned obverse....i looked around for the dealer and asked the guy next to me if he had seen him....to my surprise it was the dealer standing next to me on the outside of the booth....DAMN...i have run into this guy before...and im sure a few others out there have too....i should have got his name as i would let everyone know if i knew yet....i politly asked "excuse me sir are these your coins" ..."yes" came a barked response....a bit perplexed i continued...."i just spotted your ms66* do you have a price for that one?".....he turned looked me up and down and barked "its not for sale"

I know this guy is a dealer i know he sells coins but this is now the second time at 2 different shows i have approached him about his coins...on both occasions he looked me up and down and said not for sale.....this guy sells very high priced rainbow coins generally morgans etc...i mean way way way overpriced rainbows..ie $10,000 for a raw rainbow morgan in i would say ms66, ms67 level

Well im pretty sure i have the money to purchase his coins...even though i wouldnt touch a $10k rainbow mnorgan with a ten foot pole i would have purchased that GSA at about any price he would have mentioned.....is it that im young?(28) is it that he thinks i have no money ?(i have enough) other then that i dont understand the thinking of a person that just wouldnt want to make a sale...why would u go to a coin show have a booth and then just "display" coins and not sell them.....and if its held for someone then remove it from the case(added while fixinga heap of typos lol)

anyway thats my rant for today...i think its coin dealers like that is why i have switched focus to obsolete currency...i included a pic of 1 of a few notes i just got graded ...these notes were purchased from David Bowers....and as i have said in a previous journal, dave being the great man he is organised a letter of authenticity for me so i could send it to PMG to get it pedigreed to his reference collection...he collected all these obsoletes for preperation for his great book on the subject...its a great read BTW

Anyway enough of your time i have taken...lol..and mine...its off to hunt something....anything...thats the fun aint it....and might take a few to sell who knows

have a great weekend all

& to chris & tim...ill decide whats happening with the 81ccgsadmpl and let u guys know...unless of course someone purchases with the buy it now i would prefer to sell to a fellow CS member....all else im selling off a heap of my coins to pay for new obsoletes and medical bills so check out my ebay store S and D Rare coins...or search for "ngc star" i have a heap of ngc star graded gold up

& no this isnt advertising otherwise i would have done it at the beginning...i just thought for anyone who took the time to read all this might want some of the very low pop coins i have up on ebay

thanks to all & im still trying to get my reg points back...still dont know what happened but i dont feel special at spot 800 lol
