NGC is the top grading service by far

Having a good read here, with all those opinions out there. Now, after all that good reading, my mind starts to whirl. After having so many thoughts on this issue, I thought it best to share. In my personal experiance, I have found through many ebay purchases, NGC submissions, and attempts and purchases of PCGS, NGC, and ICCS graded coins, here are my findings.

Over the past year I have submitted aprox. 15-20 pl-66, ICCS graded coins to NGC for grading/ regrading. The word that has always been told to me, by Canadian, and a few American dealers has been that ICCS is the most conservitive grader of Canadian coins. WRONG!! NGC is. Even though I submitted 15-20 PL-66 ICCS coins, I also submitted about 20-30 pl-65's and a few 64's. Of all these coins, I NEVER found that ICCS was the most conservative grader. NGC slabbed my coins, on the whole 1 point less then the ICCS coins, thus making them the most conservative. I did get a few equal, and 1 or 2 pcs. came back higher. To complete sets, I've had to look for PCGS coins as well. Funny enough, there is more high grade Canadian pl stuff in PCGS than in NGC, or at least it is more available. My opinion is that PCGS is not grading to the standards that NGC is. Now, maybe NGC is too strict, and of course this does not work in my favor, but I have found it very difficult, and at times dissapointing to see the good money that I had spent buying top "rare" ICCS grades come back from NGC, in the "NO MONEY ZONE", as 65's, 64's, and 63's. I've decided to stop submitting ICCS graded coins, as I have turned many 300-400.00 coins into 30.00 coins, and none have helped me buld my sets. If NGC keeps up this trend, they are naturally going to be the domminent grading service for Coins.

The NGC registry "is" the most user friendly/ fun, and interactive service created for our hobby, thus far. I look forward to the day when I can attend the NGC lunchen as well as FUN show in florida. NGC gives so much over all, that none of the other graders can come close to. In the years to come, it'll be fun to watch the avid PCGS collectors move over to NGC, to have as much fun as the rest of us do. Keep up the good work NGC, But try to take it easy on my submissions, PLEASE.
