Beats the heck out of a Toaster!

My wife and I are at that age where a lot of our contemporaries are marrying off their children, and it's always a challenge to find a good Wedding Gift. However, when we had a wedding to go to last October, I came up with the idea of giving the Newlyweds a 2007 Silver Proof Set along with a check. I thought that it would be a novel gift that would always remind them of the year of their Wedding whenever they happened to look at it.

Well, as luck would have it, I ran into the Bride a few weeks back, and the first thing that she said to me was how much they both enjoyed the gift, and that her new Husband has been especially enthralled.

Anyway, I brought this up because we have a number of weddings to attend this Spring, with the first being tomorrow, and I suspect that I'm not going to be the only member out here attending nuptials for their friend's kids, so I thought that I'd share the idea.

Granted, I won't be giving out 2008 Silver Proof Sets; they haven't been released yet, but I am doling out 2008 Proof ASEs. And hey, it DEFINITELY beats a toaster!
