I think I am very close to "Going off the deep end"

Greetings from the gates of the local "Funny Farm" here in N.E. Florida. Our local coin show just ended yesterday and I felt fairly good with the restraint I demonstrated with the four hours Saturday and the two hours Sunday spent drooling over cases and cases of beautiful coins begging for homes. I ended up doing more trading this year, which is a first for me. I had some AU British sovereigns of which I traded a few of and picked up a mint tube of 2008 Silver Eagles, an 1899 NGC MS 62 $20 Liberty and a few really nice MS 64 Morgans ( '81-S, '83-O, 1900, '21 & '21-S) Also got a really sweet 1885-O NGC MS-65 too. My two boys 10 & 12 were treated like Royalty winning several door prize drawings each. I don't know if other shows are like the one here in Jacksonville, but I think it's great the way they treat the kids. They always go out of their way to load them up with all kinds of "freebies" which had my two guys fighting me to get out of going on Sat. to pushing me to get there as early as posible on Sun. and wanting to stay 'till closing. All this said, the weekend was great but then came today and I started going thru all my latest coin mags and saw how the prices are continuing to rise almost daily for that 2008 Silver Eagle with the reverse of '07. I sit here wondering what came over me and what could have possibly caused me to lose my mind and pay what I paid this evening for an ungraded example of a date that has 47,000+ pieces. I just keep thinking of the year 1995 and wanting that West Point SE but not wanting to spend $995 for over one and three quarter onces of gold to get that coin for free. I said after that, no SE issue would come out without me owning at least one. I guess misery would love some company here as I just know the "idiotic" price of $510 has to be OK somewhere in the future. Now the decision has to be made as to where to send it to be "slabbed"? I dearly love NGC but we're talking $510 here. A PCGS MS 70 went for close to $4,000 tonight on Teletrade and a MS 69 for "High Three Figures". Any other "insufficiently_thoughtful_persons" out there facing a simular dilemma? Regardless of where I send it, watch it come back a '68... "Happy COMPLETELY INSANE collecting to all... WKF
