Going Postal!!!
I'm fuming at the USPS right now...
I sent a 1953 Franklin (yes, that one...) to NGC via Express Mail on the morning of 5/13. It cost me almost $20 to do it, but I needed to get a grade as fast as possible so that I might be able to take advantage of the Seller's return window in case I was mistaken about what this coin will grade at.
Anyway, here we are fast approaching close of business on 5/16, and NGC still hasn't gotten the coin. In fact, it didn't even make it to Florida until today. I probably could've shipped it First Class and gotten the same kind of service!
For three days I waited for an update on the status by going to www.usps.gov, and nothing. I tried calling their "Contact Us" phone numbers, and nothing but automated systems. Not a human being to be found. I suppose I could've gone to the local Post Office, but that's a surly bunch down there, and I don't think that they could've helped me anyway.
Does NGC have a real street address? If so, I just may start using UPS or FedEx to handle my traffic to NGC.
Thanks for letting me rant, Journal. I feel MUCH better now... :-)
