An estate sale and ten 10 beautiful 1999 Silver Eagles with toning. What a ride!

I guess you never know what to expect and so far, all my expectations have been turned upside-down.

I recently submitted two orders for NGC grading. Today I saw the results on-line. My first order was five 2008 W early release Silver Eagles. Under a glass, I thought maybe one of the five might even have the slightest of chances to make MS70. Of that lot, three actually came back MS70. The other two MS69.

The second of my order were eleven 1999 Silver Eagles. Ten were from an estate sale with early toning. Again with the glass and in contrast to my opinion of the 2008-W's, I found three or four of the coins to be excellent MS70 candidates. Yet with great disappointment, all came back as MS69. That is save one, which achieved a mere MS68.

Those are the heart breaks and I guess the "buck stops at NGC".
