Thoughts on the Reverse of '07
I have been doing some thinking about the reverse of '07 eagles.
When I first saw the NGC report about the reverse of 2007, I immediately ran to eBay to see if any were available (I only looked for MS70). No auctions were up at that time.
Since then I checked every day to see what became available. There were a few single auctions, as well as a few dutch auctions of 20 (both Early Release and brown label). The Buy It Now (or best offer) dutch auction was set at $249 - and the lowest bids accepted were $210. I held back as the other dutch auctions (non buy-it-now) were still under $100 - and I had gotten my regular 2008 reverse for under $85.
Then an auction ended for over $680 for the MS70 reverse of 07, and the rush was on. The $249 buy-it-now auctions sold out, and the other dutch auctions were over $300. The dutch auctions ended around $400 - and newly listed auctions were in the $500 - $600 range. MS69 auctions are now over $300. Makes me wish I would have bought an MS70 for $249. Still I may get lucky with my mint orders...
Strangely enough, the mint website shows the reverse of 2007 as their product image:

They have the correct reverse of 2008 as their product image for the proof coins:

Maybe the reverse of 2008 will turn out to be the rarer of the two - probably not, but one can hope
