A Natural Progression From Addict to Pusher

Since I have the disease why not infect others.

As I have stated before, for they past two years I have been trying to make a go of a little coin business that has final shown some signs of being a success. I have had to over come some bad decisions that I made. The initial start up cost and the normal costs of a business. I am now paying down my debt while not adding to it. I have been lucky the last six months in having enough left over at the end of the month to pay all the bills and have enough left over to invest in more stock to sell. I have stumbled around trying to find the items that I could sell and what angles to use. The Lincoln wheat cent has been the ticket. I mostly appeal to new collectors(where I got both the title and teaser). With allot of talk about the change in the penny in 2009 the Lincoln cent is a hot item and the prices are on the rise. I have been going to the bank and getting 20 rolls of pennies three or four times a week, building a roll set of 59-74 and am adding them to my other collections like 41-58 and 09-40 making combos featuring all or single single folders. I have been surprised at what I have been finding wheat cents both pre and post 1940 and even a couple of Indian head pennies. It brings back a lot of old memories going thru all the pennies.

I feel the satisfaction of starting new collectors on their way. Which brings up another point that has been discussed previously

about gold and silver. Sooner or later Some one in our Government is going to start pulling all the copper alloy pennies out of circulation as the world demand for copper increases and the price goes up. Which could have a devastating effect on coin collecting since just about everyone starts with a penny collection. I am now saving every 1981 and before penny I come across as to try and preserve some for future collectors that may sound radical but it might be profitable also. Thats all for now
