May have wasted half a day on these photo's...

After taking several dozen photo's they appear to be just a little large. My daughter used a top of the line "Cannon" and was set on the lowest possible setting and the pics are still too large. Does anyone have any tips on where to go from here or has all the time spent thus far been in vain? Should not the web site be able to convert these pics to the right size? Thanks to everyone in advance... WKF
