Sometimes losing an auction is better??? WHAT!!!!!

When does losing an auction turn in to a BIG win? Easy when you get a 2nd chance offer, that's when.

Last week in a moment of insanity, after tasting the top ten in the Mint State Presidential Dollar category. (I dropped to 12th the very next day.) I decided that I needed to up grade my Monroe's to MS67 even though I had just bought and add some MS65's. So off I went in search of my prize, and it didn't take long for me to find them. I quickly ran a search to see what they have been going for. Found the lowest price that one set had sold for and used that for my maximum bid, just knowing that if it had sold for that low price once it could happen again. I found the one that was ending the soonest and placed my low ball bid. Then I figured that I needed to bid on more of them to assure my winning at least one. I went to the bid assistant and was going to set up a number of auctions ending at different times with the same low bid, but I had already placed a bid in the one ending soonest and it wouldn't let me add it to the other ones so I decided to wait. While waiting I came to my senses and watched as I was out bid by $20 dollars. Auction ended and having come to my senses I didn't bid on anything else. A short time later I got an E-mail from the seller offering me the MS67 James Monroes at my low ball bid. Now isn't that something I get out bid lose the auction and still get to buy the coins cheaper than the winner, Only in America, now when my coins get here and I add them to my collection there is an outside chance that I may tie for tenth place again for a day. Who says I'm not competitive.
