My latest submission: Huge Disappointment

Some times you win, some times you lose...

I recently submitted a 1956 Proof Set. Felt that the Jefferson was quite nice and might grade reasonably well. I also felt that the Roosevelt was a nice piece also. The Washington and Franklin were mediocre, but I figured I'd get them graded as well so that I could complete my set. The Lincoln had some pitting so I didn't even bother with it; I had previously bought a PCGS-graded Lincoln to stand in its place.

In short, I was hoping for a PF67 Cameo for the Rosie and at least the same for the Jefferson. Alas, that wasn't to be. I got PF66 for all four, so it wasn't even worth paying the grading fees. Oh well, it happens. All part of the excitement, but I do feel kind of disappointed. Guess it still shows that I have quite a few things to learn when it comes to gauging what a grader might think.

It's also making me have reservations about my next planned submission: a 1954 Proof Set. Not only do I feel that I might end up wasting money again, I fear that it'd be even more money than this last submission, as I can't submit 1954s under the Modern tier, and I really don't want to use Economy due to the turnaround. The wait would kill me...

On the bright side, I do have a complete 1956 Proof Set now. All 15 points... :-)
