Once in a while it all just falls into place!

The American Buffalo: A symbol of freedom for all Americans and a symbol of strength for Native Americans. What could be a more appropriate design for these rare 24kt brilliant gold coins? With the proud Native American featured on the obverse and the American Buffalo on the reverse, this coin symbolizes all of what America is.

I started this journey with the purchase of a Proof Gold Buffalo from the mint in 2006. I sent it to PCGS for grading and while disappointed that it came back PF69-DCAM, I was still so very proud of my first gold purchase, showing it to all who cared to view. Most had never seen a gold coin, let alone held one in their hands!

In 2007, I decided my beautiful buffalo needed company so this time I went online and looking for that perfect PF70. I looked at many, unable to decide on which PF70 was the one I wanted or the price I was willing to pay. As it happened, one morning I decided to check Ebay...again. A new listing was waiting for me and it was a BIN(buy it now)and the coin just looked 'right' for me. So, I bought it. I was unaware that the mint had that very morning suspended sales of the 2007 Gold Buffalo! Apparently, I was making the right choice as everything was clicking into place.

The new purchase arrived and joined the PF69 from 2006. I kept looking at the two together...couldn't tell the difference myself but the one point discrepancy in the grades bothered me. I decided I needed to replace the 2006 PF69 with a 2006 PF70. With regret, I consigned my first gold buffalo to a local auction. In the meantime I went back online, searching for the next 'right' purchase. Within several weeks and shortly after the successful local auction, I found a 2006 PF70 that gave me the same feeling of satisfaction as the 2007 PF70. This time it was through an online bullion dealer; they had but one in stock however, I felt it was exactly what I had been searching for. For some reason, nothing on the 'Bay caught my fancy, although there were plenty to chose from.

I was completely satisfied with my purchase and my herd of two perfect Gold Buffalo Proofs! Then registry fever hit me...
