copper, tin, brass

Today I went to the local coin shop with 2 coins to see what amount of cash I could get for them. One coin was a 2008 W Dolly Madison mint state $10 gold coin graded PCGS 69 and the other coin was a 1988 W Olympic gold $5 gold proof coin PCGS 69. Wow what a surprise for me. The local coin shop is nothing more than scrap metal dealer. I was offered less than melt for the coins by about 20%. The dealer stated that he can not sell these coins and that he cracks them out of the cases sends them to be melted down. I said thanks and took my coins back home. I have held coins for 30 years and I will keep these for 30 years if I have too.
