Waiting on a gamble
I don't know why I submit some of the things that I submit.
I consider it kind of a challenge. I have a submission in Quality Control right now. 5 coins. A 1971 Proof Set. Now a lot of people would ask why on Earth would I want to do THAT. The truth is, if I get good grades on them, the Pop numbers are so low that I might have something with a little value. The odds of having something with a little value? Slim to none. I don't believe that the 70s were exactly the high point of Proof quality from our illustrious Mint (Or fashion, either.... Anybody still have their Leisure Suits? I do, although I seem to have lost my Mood Ring).
Anyway, that's where the challenge comes into play. Seeing if I can get something with a low Pop. And if I don't get anything decent out of my grades? Shrug it off and try again. One of the things that I'd like to do is get a Proof Set in my Registry from 1950 on up, and that'll get me a little bit further towards my goal.
I almost submitted 1968 and 1969 Proof Sets in my last submission, but thought better of it. I still have a 2007 Silver Set that needs grading, and so that's going first. Guess I'll know on those in about 2 weeks or so.
