Did I hear that right?

One of my favorite shows to watch on TV is "The Coin Vault" on the Shop at Home channel.

Now, I have never oredered anything from there as I usually just get what I want from the mint or auctions, but I find it amazing to sit and stare at the coins they present, and the hosts are usually very entertaining, I have a good time with that show.

But, last night, somewhere in between the "proof silver statehood quarter" and the "BU Morgan dollars" during a break, the President of Shop at Home appeared to say "We will be ceasing this broadcast on March 8, 2008...."

WHAT??? I asked my wife " what am I gonna do now????" I think she was actually too happy to answer. For me it's kinda like the last episode of MASH is coming up or something.

I credit Coin Vault as one of the reasons I started collecting in the first place, along with the episode on History Channel about the US Mint. Before I ever held a silver coin in my hand I just STARED for HOURS at the wonderful coins on Coin Vault, and the hosts excitement about the coins were definately a great inspiration for my numismania that I have today.

I can't believe the show will be gone, but my fervor and love for collecting is greater than ever. This hobby has literally made me feel alive again.
