Its A Long Road
The Presidential Dollars are a hopeful beginning....
When I first started collecting as a teenager I suppose I did not take it all very seriously and over the years I have more or less dabbled at the whole thing and made it a delightful diversion. And now well.... I guess I am looking at the process as just a fun experience. I only joined the "society" rather recently and this enterprise has brought me to a place where I have to seek professional graders to validate and therefore register coins in the hobby endeavor. Which adds another dimension to the whole thing, whereas before I could just put the coins into a folder or tube and say: there I have that one and go on from that point to whatever I chose. Now the situation is different in that the NGC process has entered the picture, it appears that it is a long road. But the Presidential Dollars offers an opportunity to start down a trail that is at the beginning and can grow with the mint as it produces the coins year by year. I am looking forward to this part of my collection, and hopeful that I will be able to keep in step with the releases and grading through NGC. Dawbid
