My 2007 Presidential Proof Set has Arrived!!

Also, I looked a bit closer, and have a 1928, not 1923 Peace Dollar...

Yesterday was a rather long day for me. Worked until 6 o'clock, and of course my last call was 40 miles from home. I won't even MENTION the traffic ( ooops I just did!!)

BUT as a arrived home, I had one of the nice rectangular cardboard packages from " Fulfillment Center" waiting for me, and all of the sudden the job and traffic were all but forgotten about...for a few moments anyway...

Could it be my Proof Silver Eagle????? I KNOW it's not the Bald Eagle coins just yet... I opened the package in great anticipation..YESSSS!! The 2007 Proof Presidential Coins have arrived!!

The mint packaging is pretty great, too. I don't know yet if I'll get them graded, and I am going to purchase the sets as they are released, so I probably will just keep them in the mint packages. The sets are a brilliant gold with excellent cameo images of the Presidents.

As I have mentioned before, this is a great opportunity to start a set from the beginning, AND the coins are truly remarkable...well NOT as remarkable as my favorites..the Silver Eagles...but remarkable still.

In other bits of excitement...I was watching "America's Auction" last night and they had about every coin on there that I found in the cedar chest I wrote about a few days ago ( which I WILL post a story and some pics about that probably Saturday)

So, feeling the mania, I pulled out each coin they were auctioning and showed my wife...again ( I think she inwardly rolls her eyes, but outwardly shows a fair amount of excitement)

and then I took a closer look at the date of my Peace Dollar..and I HAPPEN to have the latest issue of Coin age Magazine with price guides..

So, I took a closer look and saw it was a 1928 no mint mark Peace Dollar..according to the price guide, in VG condition they price it at $435...WOAH!! if it were a 1923, I think it priced at like $23...what a difference.

I am not a skilled grader of coins, but I would say it's probably a little better than VG, never been cleaned, just sat in a sock in a metal strong box in a cedar chest for a LOOOONG time...definately have to get this one graded.

Anyway, happy collecting...yeah, I miss the mints site as well...can't track my coins now...but it's our own fault as we have SWAMPED them lately..ok it's THEIR fault for having such great products!!

Have a great day!!
