What was the Mint thinking?

Being an IT guy that works in marketing, I'm dumbfounded.

The US Mint advertises the release of a series of very attractive coins for Jan 15th (Bald Eagles), and then decides that would be a great time to swap out their Web Service Provider. Hello???

I logged on to www.usmint.gov to place an order for a Proof Dollar and Half Dollar. I get past the Landing Page, and then see this Construction Page that says "Sorry. We are not up right now. We're switching providers. Please mail your request or call 1-800-USA-MINT". I have tried ALL afternoon to get through on the phone without success.

It seems to me that if you are a consumer-oriented organization, which while being an arm of the government, the Mint really seems to be, then why on earth would you schedule an event that has the potential to be so disruptive to your business right when logic dictates that your business will spike? I dunno... Maybe they really are bureaucrats after all...
