My offer from the mint...

Yesterday was a terribly wayward day for me professionally. Although I LOVE what I do for a living, sometimes it is hard to deal with people and things politically on the job..so I guess I could call it "a bad day".

The homefront is always a place that I find peace and comfort, thanks to a great "partner in crime" a.k.a. "My Loving Wife".

As I was sitting at home after work, the mail arrived, and in it was a brochure from the mint tauting "The 2008 Bald Eagle Comemm. Program" with special "early bird" <-- my own wording there ...pricing.

They are only making 100,000 $5 gold coins, 500,000 each of the silver proofs, uncircs. And 750,000 half dollars.

I love the artwork on the silvers, so I went ahead and ordered one of each. I can't afford gold right now, or I would have bought a gold coin. The half dollars have baby bald eagles on them...I don't think birds are really that adorable as babies...so I skipped that one.

I am mailing the coupon back today...and as usual will be anxiously awaiting the coins.

This will be my first comemm. purchase...and I am really excited about it.

This hobby is always getting more interesting for me, and each day I am more and more pleased to be a part.
