I want it, I want it, I want it List.
Prizes to take home.
I want world peace, more money than Bill Gates and an understanding girl friend.
I want: 1916D Mercury Dime MS65FB
1921D Mercury Dime MS65FB
1921 Mercury Dime MS65FB
1945 Mercury Dime MS65FB
1945S Mercury Dime MS67FB micro S, et al
My first three wants are priceless but my Mercuries would cost me just under $75000.00.
Dreamers want it all but collecters get to hold their prizes in their hands and take them home.
Any "Want List" I develop for 2008 must....must be achieveable for that list to be a realistic tool.
First, I cannot spend $75000.00 in 2008; not even close. I reckon a budget is in order. I can afford a spending budget of $100.00/ month. I just openned an account to receive my coin money...get the idea my eyes are bigger than my wallet!
My collection has duplicates so they can be sold off/traded out. I can keep costs down by cherry picking dealers stocks (here there is the opportunity to sharpen my grading skills) of raw coins.
I will attend my first ever Coin Club meeting later this month. Membership may provide me with an opportunity I have not had since I was a kid trading marbles on the playground.
Want List + budget = a disciplined collector.
Louis Eliasberg did not just throw money at a trusted dealer. His collection was the work of a lifetime.
Now that I have a budget, what is it exactly that I want to collect? I have to deliberate on this question.
