THANK YOU D.M. !!!
An Annual Wish List: A Marvelous Idea, By Jove!
A well developed plan, boldly executed, is the key to a winning chess game. Could my other hobby inform me in my numismatic pursuits?
I think it may.....
Today's journal entry by D.M Merrill struck me like a thunder bolt. While he was grading his collecting efforts in the journal I took away the idea of his yardstick: the "15 Most Wanted List".
What would it take to create a proper annual wish list? Certainly I must first take a more determined look at my current inventory. Next I must more clearly define my ultimate, long term goal. Thirdly, measure the current state of my efforts against that goal.
I anticipate actively purchasing for the next 20 years ( or retirement, which ever comes first). Well I may have 20 individual lists, annually adjusted.
As I sit here thinking about the process I am stuck by its complexity. And so off I go to build my first ANNUAL WISH LIST.
I do not yet have a plan but I have a tool for its creation.
Chess and numismatics, similar in the need for a plan; who would have thunk it.
What a marvelous idea, thank you D.M.!!!
